How Mett brings privacy-first video to Dutch public sector platforms

Over the last two years, we’ve worked closely with Mett to make privacy-first video a natural part of its platform. From custom integration support to platform-specific functionality, we helped shape a video experience built around privacy, scalability, and ease of use for Mett’s customers.

Now, we’re taking the next step in our collaboration: a dedicated European Mett region within the Mave infrastructure.

This environment is hosted on Scaleway and set up specifically for the use of Mave video inside the Mett platform. As a European provider, Scaleway keeps Mett’s customer data fully within EU jurisdiction, without exposure to foreign data-access laws such as the US CLOUD Act. That is a non-negotiable requirement for Dutch government and public-sector organizations. Instead of asking customers to connect with Mave directly, Mett can now offer Mave as an integrated video layer within its own platform.

Together, we have started onboarding a growing number of Mett customers into this dedicated setup, with more to follow over time.

Video built into the Mett platform

Mett helps organizations create online platforms for community, participation, knowledge sharing, project websites, and surveys. Its platform is used to inform, involve, and connect people around projects, ideas, and communities.

Video is part of that experience: a natural way to share updates, explain projects, support participation, and bring communities closer together.

That is why this setup goes beyond a standard Mave account. The dedicated Mett region gives Mett a scalable foundation to offer privacy-first video directly to its customers, inside the environment they already use.

Mave powers the video layer in the background, including storage, playback, adaptive streaming, subtitles, transcription, and the underlying European infrastructure. Mett stays in control of the customer relationship, the platform experience, and the way video fits into its wider product.

The result: customers upload video directly within Mett. There is no separate login to a video service and no embed code to paste. Just upload, and Mave handles storage, playback, and subtitling in the background.

A region designed for platform use

The Mett region is built for a different kind of video delivery.

Instead of every customer setting up video separately, Mave runs as part of the Mett platform. This creates one clear foundation for video across multiple customer environments, while keeping the experience simple for the people using it.

Within this region, videos are stored, processed, and played through the Mave player. Customer environments can be kept clearly separated, while Mett can offer video as an integrated part of its own platform.

That makes the setup ready for growth. A first group of Mett customers, including Dutch central government organizations and municipalities, is already being onboarded, and the region is designed to scale as more customers start using video inside Mett.

Privacy first means no cookies and no tracking layer

Many video platforms still rely on cookies, tracking, or advertising-based infrastructure. For organizations that want to keep their digital environment clear and trustworthy, that can quickly become complicated.

With Mave, video becomes a natural way to inform, involve, and connect people.

The Mave player uses no cookies and adds no tracking layer, so video can work inside the Mett platform without unnecessary consent friction or extra complexity.

The result is video that feels like part of the platform experience from the start: hosted in Europe, built around privacy, and ready to use where people already work.

Aligned with Mett’s standards

Mett has built its platform around strong standards for security, privacy, accessibility, and reliability. That creates a clear expectation for every technology that becomes part of the Mett experience.

Mave fits that foundation.

Like Mett, we work with ISO-certified security processes. Our video player has also been independently audited by Proper Access against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This helps ensure that video can become part of the platform in a way that supports Mett’s wider commitment to privacy, trust, and inclusive digital experiences.

Because Mave is not offered as a separate tool next to Mett, it becomes part of the platform itself. The video layer needs to feel consistent with what Mett customers already expect: secure, accessible, European, and easy to use.
