List of Subprocessors

In the context of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a subprocessor refers to a third party engaged by a data processor for performing specific processing activities on behalf of the data controller.

Sustainability is broader than renewable electricity. We look at CO₂, water, resources and the quality of the supporting evidence. Renewable-energy certificates or carbon compensation alone are not proof that a provider is climate neutral.

Delivery

By default, video content is distributed from European (EU/EER) regions. Which delivery provider applies depends on the plan and configuration:

Scaleway is used for paid subscriptions by default.
Tigris is used for video content distribution during the Test plan.
Cloudflare is used only when a customer actively enables Cloudflare as CDN.

Global distribution

Some customers choose global distribution for video content. In that case, video assets may be distributed outside the EU and IP-addresses may be processed for data security reasons, to reduce latency and improve video performance.

Mave uses Scaleway's FR-PAR region. Scaleway reports wind or hydropower backed by guarantees of origin for its Paris data centres, alongside annual Scope 1–3 emissions and PUE per site.

Water and resources

Published 2024 figures for Paris range from 0.00002 to 0.25 l/kWh WUE, depending on the data centre. Scaleway avoids cooling towers and reports hardware reconditioning.
